Replace streetlights from Arpora to Nagoa junction

Citizen Rajesh Banaulikar Arpora

Arpora to Nagoa junction, one and half kilometre stretch is Major District Road (MDR). This stretch of road was fully illuminated seven years ago. Of course credit goes to local MLA Michael Lobo.

At present most of the streetlights are out of order since long period of time. One has no idea which authority is maintaining and servicing these streetlights. But replacement of these streetlights is the need of the hour.    This route is playing important role in tourism sector as the road connects Mapusa, Anjuna, Calangute and Baga beaches beside Arpora. It runs from Saligao to Panjim and therefore this road should not remain in darkness. This area has perennial tourism. So night electrical vigilance becomes very vital to avoid accidents as the road is wide and smooth.

The absence of streetlights makes people feel uncomfortable and unsecured to use the footpath. So the concerned authorities need to replace all those streetlights which are not functional. There will more than 100 streetlights which are not glowing since long time.
