Revert changed land zone to original status: MLA to TCP

MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco demanded strict action against those responsible for the illegal act, by which a strong message will be sent across that the minister really means business and will not tolerate such illegalities.

MARGAO: Taking strong objection to the construction of roads and cutting of hills near the mutt area and developing plots along the steep slope in the Housing Board of Curtorim constituency, local MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco demanded that TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane revert back the changed land zone to its original status. 

In a letter to the TCP Minister, the MLA demanded strict action against those responsible for the illegal act, by which a strong message will be sent across that the minister really means business and will not tolerate such illegalities. 

Reginaldo said on May 20, in a letter to the SGPDA Member Secretary he brought to the secretary’s notice the construction of roads and cutting of hills near mutt area by a private company and developing plots on a steep slope in Housing Board of Curtorim constituency. 

“But I am sorry to state that no action has been taken against the said rampant illegality,” he said.  The MLA said the said activity of developing plots in the said area will prove to be environmentally destructive in the form of incessant rains and landslides.
