River Navigation Department notifies toll fee rates for various ferry routes

PANJIM: The River and Navigation Department on Friday notified the rates of toll fee and monthly passes for various ferry routes plying in the State, despite the objections from Divar islanders regarding proposed increase in rates for four wheelers and introduction of ticket for two-wheelers. The new rates will come into effect from November 16, 2023. 

As per the notification issued by Captain of Ports and Ex-Officio Joint Secretary Vikas S N Gaunekar, now the two-wheelers will have to pay Rs 10 per trip while there would be monthly passes available for unlimited trips (for 30 days) at Rs 150.

Three-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicle owners will have to pay Rs 40 per trip. The monthly passes for unlimited trips for them (for 30 days) will be available at Rs 600.

The heavy motor vehicles or heavy passenger vehicle with driver with total weight less than ten tonnes will have to pay Rs 400 per trip. For a monthly pass for unlimited trips for 30 days, they will have to pay Rs 6,000, the notification said. The fare for the cargos is Rs 50 per tonne, the notification said.

The rates are for Pomburpa-Chodan, Old Goa-Piedade, Camurlim-Tuem, Narve-Diwar, Old Goa-Diwar, Volvoi-Surla, Panjim-Betim, Tolto-Dhauji, Cumbarjua-Gavandali, Kerim-Terekhol, Ribandar-Chodan, St Pedre-Diwar, Vashi-Amboi, Sarmanas-Tonca, Raia-Shiroda, Adpoi-Rassaim, Rassaim-Durbhat and Madkai-Cortalim, the notification added.
