Road named after tiatrist De Sa in Cuncolim

MARGAO: The department of Posts on Sunday released a special postal cover as part of the birth centenary celebrations of the stalwart of Konkani tiatr stage Anthony De Sa at his native village Cuncolim.

MARGAO:  The department of Posts on Sunday released a special postal cover as part of the birth centenary celebrations of the stalwart of Konkani tiatr stage Anthony De Sa at his native village Cuncolim.

The road leading to Anthony De Sa’s house at Dandora-Cuncolim was named as Anthony De Sa Road at a simple function in the morning.

At a function organised by the Tiatr Academy of Goa in collaboration with Cuncolim Municipal Council, the postal cover was released at the hands of Post Master General, Goa region Charles Lobo in the presence of Cuncolim Municipal Chairperson Landry Mascarenhas, TAG President Prince Jacob, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Cuncolim Fr Manuel Fernandes and others.

Born on March 1, 1915 at Dandora-Cuncolim, Anthony De Sa has written 17 tiatrs and directed 24 tiatrs.

 of different writers. 

Anthony De Sa had acted in two Konkani films, Amchem Noxib and Nirmonn. 

His role in Nirmonn will always remain as a proof of his acting abilities for generations to come, informed TAG President Prince Jacob.
