VASCO: Sancoale sarpanch Ramakant Borkar demanded the resignation of Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha for failing to complete major developmental projects and for not resolving the people's issues on the three linear projects with her government.

Addressing media persons after the inaugural function of over 20 projects on Wednesday, Borkar said, “Cortalim MLA Saldanha has totally failed in taking up and completing projects such as Kala Bhavan at Upasnagar, market complex, Bandole Lake, rehabilitation of slums in Zuarinagar and others.

Borkar claimed that because of Alina, Cortalim constituency for the last eight years has lagged behind in terms of development.

He said the Cortalim MLA is seen taking part in the agitation against the three linear projects pursued by the BJP government.

Borkar criticised the MLA for her failure to resolve issues with the BJP-led state government and instead joining the people's agitation opposing these projects.

He also claimed that just because she has no capacity to resolve these issues she chose to join agitations and protests sensing the upcoming election to gain support of the people.
