MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) president, and MLA of Fatorda, Vijai Sardesai, took to the streets of Fatorda to campaign for party-backed candidate Sujay Lotlikar for the upcoming municipal elections, who is contesting from ward no. 5.

Speaking to the residents of ward no.5, Sardesai said “Goa’s first smart road was constructed in this ward, and that the people recognise our unique system of Development By Consent, and wholeheartedly support the need for people-centric development.”

Sardesai, Lotlikar and the ward no. 5 team visited the Romulo Complex, Kurtarkar Royale and the Don Bosco College of Engineering, and surveyed the development of Rocha Park, a multipurpose walking track in its final stages of completion.

Sardesai said that the Goa Forward Party, and the Fatorda Forward team ‘don’t resort to election stunts and empty promises’ and said that his mission is clear and simple ‘to ensure that the people of Fatorda enjoy a standard of living that’s world-class.

The GFP chief also took the opportunity to lash out at the BJP. “They believe in development by force, imposing their will on the people. We constantly listen and understand people’s wishes and needs and that’s why Fatorda is Goa’s only constituency that has become a symbol of a modern, progressive Goa,” he said

Vijai Sardesai, speaking to various people in Fatorda, put forward his long-term vision to make Fatorda a world class residential choice for all Goans. He said that it’s necessary not only to have a vision but also  the will to execute it efficiently, highlighting some of the numerous infrastructure works like roads, signals, underground electric cabling, sewerage, and the retail fish market that he and his team had fulfilled.
