Savita elected as Carmona sarpanch
MARGAO: Savita Cristeo Mascarenhas who was functioning as the Deputy Sarpanch of Carmona Panchayat has now been elected as Sarpanch since Winston Primo X Dias resigned as Sarpanch on health grounds necessitating election of a new sarpanch.
At the elections held on February 5, 2018 there were two contestants Savita and Allwyn Jorge whose nomination as seconded by the outgoing Sarpanch Winston Primo Dias.
As each of the two candidates got three votes, the winner was decided by the draw of lots where Savita emerged victorious.
