PANJIM: The 61 Goan seafarers who were place under institutional quarantine on their return last month from Mumbai port, will go home on Tuesday. They will, however, remain under home quarantine for another 14 days during which health workers will monitor their condition.
“They have completed the 14-day institutional quarantine period and will be placed under another 14-day home quarantine,” COVID-19 nodal officer Dr Utkarsh Bethodkar told Herald. Bethodkar has urged people not to discriminate against them.
It is, however, not confirmed whether the seafarers, all of who tested negative for COVID-19, will be dropped by government-arranged vehicles or by their own private vehicles.
Meanwhile 16 seafarers from the ship Angriya disembarked and are quarantined in a hotel at Chorla.
