PANJIM: Administration of COVID-19 vaccinations for citizens above 60 years and those between 45 and 59 years having co-morbidities will start in the State from Monday. 

People above 60 years can visit their nearest government hospital with their Aadhaar card or any other government approved photo ID while, people between 45 and 59 years will have to produce the certificate of their co-morbidity from a registered medical practitioner on a prescribed format of Government of India along with their photo ID.

Registration of both age group beneficiaries will be done on the spot at the vaccination site on first come first serve basis, a statement from the government said. Registration can also be done online on Co-Win portal once it is open for the same. 

A second dose for all due beneficiaries will be done at the same site where they received their first dose, the statement adds.

Vaccination will be free of charge at the government vaccination centres while those receiving the COVID vaccine at any designated/ empanelled private health facility will have to pay a pre-fixed charge.

The nationwide vaccination drive was launched on January 16 this year and it will now be exponentially expanded to the above age groups from Monday.
