Septic tank overflows at Camarcazana, Peddem

Becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes, which poses another threat/nuisance to residents

MAPUSA: Residents of Peddem Camarcazana area in Mapusa have raised concern over leakage of septic tank water on road.

Residents said that there is a mega housing complex consisting of 319 flats name Satt Adhaar Arcade with Phase I & Phase II complex.

Residents staying in Phase II said that from last more than two months, the septic tank/soak pit of Phase I complex is overflowing and the waste water is flowing over the internal service road causing hardship to the residents of Phase II complex whereby exposing them to the hazardous water and foul smell throughout day and night.

They said that this overflow of hazardous water is now getting stagnated at the low lying area near Phase II complex and becoming a breeding ground for mosquitoes, which poses another threat/nuisance to the residents of the said area.

They said that initially they thought that the owner of Phase I residence would take care of it but however failed to do so.

Residents said that in this regard, they have filed a complaint with the Health Department and have requested the concerned officials to act under Goa Public Health Act, 2005.
