PANJIM: BJP Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Goa is crucial and will be a major boost for the State ahead of the 2022 Assembly polls.

"His visit to Goa is crucial. It will act as major boost to the party ahead of the polls next year. He will take stock of the preparations for the elections and will meet the party leaders, ministers and workers," Fadnavis told reporters on his arrival at Dabolim airport.

Shah is known as a political strategist and his expertise and guidance will help Goa BJP in its election strategy, he said.

Fadnavis along with BJP National Secretary C T Ravi arrived a day before Shah's two-day programme to review preparations for his visit. "We are here to prepare for his visit," Fadnavis said.

BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that Shah will hold marathon meetings with the State core committee, MLAs and party workers.

On Wednesday evening, the three leaders Fadnavis, Ravi and Tanavade inspected Taleigao Community Hall where Shah will address party workers at 5.15 pm on Thursday.
