PANJIM: The Smart City workers damaged a water pipeline near the Immaculate Conception Church Panjim on Wednesday. The careless act not only caused a massive loss of potable water but also disrupted the water supply to nearby areas for several hours. This incident has raised serious concerns among the citizens of Panjim about the lack of planning, coordination and accountability in the execution of Smart City projects.
The Immaculate Conception Church was also affected by the water wastage. The area, a tourist destination, was flooded, causing inconvenience to tourists and locals alike.
