Snooker player involved in house breaking booked for cheating

MAPUSA:  The accused involved in a house breaking theft at Porvorim has been booked for cheating an Assanora resident of giving a government job to her son.

According to SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, the accused Suleman Shaikh who was recently arrested by Porvorim police in connection with a house breaking theft has been booked by Mapusa Police Station for cheating. The accused is also a snooker player.

On Saturday, a woman from Assonora having a travel agency at Mapusa lodged her complaint that under the pretext of giving a government job to her son, took an amount of Rs1.8 lakh, but he however failed to do so or return the money.

During the course of investigation, Mapusa police found that the said accused is the same person who was arrested by Porvorim Police Station in a house breaking theft. Accordingly the Mapusa police will take custody of accused by obtaining the transfer warrant from the court.

The Mapusa Police Station have registered a crime under section 420 IPC and further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Jivba Dalvi.
