Low key birthday celebration

The celebration of Manohar Parrikar’s birthday was low key with the CM being busy in the Assembly and couldn’t visit  Margao . And to commemorate his birthday on December 13, former Fatorda MLA, Damodar Naik organised a celebration and distributed free apples to the people in Margao. However, Xaxtikars did not seem amused with this apple-distribution celebration of the CM, who’s not so popular in Salcete just like his party, which doesn’t have a single MLA in Xaxti.

Neuri, cribs and sugar?

It’s that time of the year when MLAs shower goodies on their supporters and now that it was  an election year, the expectations are very high from people who want MLAs to sponsor fireworks, Christmas and New Year dances, massive cribs in Salcete, while some self-help groups want bulk neuri and sweets orders, while some household even expect sugar for the Christmas festivities. Obviously, the supply as well as demand from voters from Xaxti has already begun!

Churchill, Valanka want the stadium?

Churchill Alemao would famously reply to a question ‘on what grounds’ with a cheeky ‘on Fatorda grounds’ back in the day. But now with Fatorda ground being booked by FC Goa, the Benaulim MLA and his self-professed social worker daughter who’s CEO of the Churchill Brothers football team, is not too happy of the ground unavailable for her team at the I-League and the scramble by them continues with FC Goa Management and the SAG. Churchill himself is not amused of being kept away from Fatorda ground which he claims is his bastion.
