Adventurists love Mainapi waterfall

CANACONA: Mainapi waterfall of Netravali is a paradise for nature lovers and adventurists. Hidden amongst the dense forests of one of the nascent sanctuaries, the Mainapi waterfall in Netravali wild life sanctuary is truly a delight to visit for trekkers and nemophilists for its beauty.

Mainapi waterfall which might have got its name from the presence of many nests of a bird locally called Maina on the vertical wall of black granite stone is a cool 5 kms from the tar road and with so many ups and downs is a true test of trekkers stamina specially at the vertical slope up and down just before one reaches the waterfall. It takes more than 3 hours on foot to conquer this waterfall.

‘Govt allegedly violating provisions of Mahajani Act’

MARGAO:  President of Jai Damodar Association Mahesh Nayak has alleged that the Government, by making Taluka and District Committees of the Temples of Goa, is violating the provisions of Mahajani Act. The activist has urged the government to hold meetings of the temple committees at State Level. 

Nayak, who is also the Mahajan of the Ramnath Devasthan in Mardol, has along with one more petitioner, approached the CM and Revenue Minister, Governor, District Collector North and Collector South and has handed over a memorandum to the authorities urging that a meeting of all the Temple Committees be held jointly. Mahesh Nayak said.

"The Article 39 (A) of Mahajani, Devasthan Regulation Act doesn't have any provision to have district or Taluka level meetings and having said that having such meetings will be violation," said Mahesh Nayak.
