PANJIM: The Old Goa Police have registered an FIR against one Sylvester Cardoso for allegedly threatening an activist and St Cruz local Andrea Pereira. As per the FIR, Cardozo allegedly threatened Pereira and her family with dire consequences.
In her complaint, Pereira had alleged that she received the threatening call after her letter to the Goa Police urging to increase patrolling in the village after the shootout incident that killed one. She quoted his telephonic conversation in which he asked if she wants enmity with him.
The attack on under trial Imran Bepari’s house during the early hours of June 20 saw the death of a fellow gang member Sonu Yadav who was accidentally shot in his chest. The police have so far arrested 20 persons and apprehended three minors; recovered country made pistols, swords and choppers.
The NGO also raised the possibility about their involvement into drug menace while requesting the police to crackdown on the criminal activities in St Cruz.
