State reports 1,922 new cases in 24 hrs

PANJIM: The State’s COVID-19 graph continued to move upwards as 1,922 new cases were reported on Sunday. 

As per the bulletin released by the Health Department, the surge in cases has also spiked the positivity rate which stood at 24.76 per cent.

The rise in daily cases also pushed the active cases to 9,209. The recovery rate in the last 24 hours was 261.

The State also reported one death. 

Meanwhile, of the total COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday, five patients have been admitted to the hospital while the rest opted for home isolation.

28,000 beneficiaries eligible for precautionary dose

PANJIM: Twenty-eight thousand beneficiaries are eligible for precautionary dose, as booster dose vaccination begins in the State from Monday. 

State Immunization Officer Dr Rajendra Borkar said eligible beneficiaries who have taken Covishield as both doses will be administered the same vaccine. The precautionary dose vaccination will be available across health centres and GMC. He said that Precautionary dose will also be available for all health workers, frontline workers and especially those on election duty.
