MARGAO: Claiming that several issues pertaining to Goa have been raised in the Parliament earlier, South Goa Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinha urged the State government to restart mining at the earliest. Addressing the media at Margao he said the BJP government at the Centre is deliberately engaged in summoning the Congress leaders through the ED so that the Parliament functioning is disturbed.  Sardinha said he had raised the issue of mining in Parliament before but the government is least bothered about resolving the issue.

"The closure of mining activities has affected thousands of people across Goa. However, this government is not interested in resolving the issue so that people are relieved from the hardships they face,” said Sardinha. He said inflation has made life difficult for the common man, however, the Central government continues to tax essential items, resulting in more hardship. "People are in trouble, but the State government is least bothered to take steps pertaining to inflation,” he alleged.

The MP urged the panch members who will be elected on August 12 to come forward with proposals for the betterment of their villages.  "I am ready to use the funds under MPLAD and so, panchayats need to come forward with the proposal and the priorities", said Sardinha.
