PANJIM: The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board meeting scheduled on Wednesday was postponed as TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai could not chair it due to other engagements.
The meeting was to take a call on the Outline Development Plan (ODP) for Calangute and Candolim, which has been opposed by the villagers.
Speaking to Herald, Sardesai said that since it is a postponed meeting, there was no urgency to have it. “We will have it soon,” he said referring to the initial meeting which was held on September 4.
The Minister, who has already sent back the ODPs of Panjim, Mapusa and Vasco for redrafting, had assured the villagers of Calangute and Candolim that the issues raised by them would be examined and put up before the Board for a decision.
The villagers have been demanding that the plan be de-notified and a new plan be drafted with people’s participation.
