TCP grants nod to increase FAR for hotels

PANJIM: The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Board on Tuesday granted its nod to increase Floor Area Ratio (FAR) for hotels to 30 per cent in rural areas and 40 per cent in urban. 

The TCP Board that met under Minister Vishwajit Rane also decided to develop Kadamba Plateau as new ‘Satellite Township’ of Panjim with 400 per cent FAR. 

Sources informed that the meeting resolved to increase FAR for hotels from existing 20 per cent to 40 per cent in the urban areas and 30 per cent in the rural. 

In an important decision, the Board decided not to grant any sort of relaxation to the projects once the work on it commences. 

In a bid to keep watch on the functioning of the department, the Board decided to install CCTV cameras in TCP offices and office of Planning and Development Authorities (PDAs).
