VASCO: In increasing cases of tourists flouting traffic rules, the Goa Traffic police on Monday booked a tourist taxi owner after tourists were seen moving dangerously in his vehicle at Verna.
One bare bodied male tourist was seen sitting on top of tourist taxi. Besides him, two others – a male tourist was sitting on the window on the left side of the vehicle and leaning out and on the right side a woman tourist was sitting on the window and leaning out.
The video went viral on social media with the tourists and the driver flouting traffic rules.
The Vasco police booked Nitin Redkar, a taxi owner from Vasco under Section 84 (C) of the Motor Vehicles Act. He was booked for driving the vehicle in a dangerous manner and endangering the lives at night.
Taking to his X handle, SP (Traffic) Akshat Kaushal said, “A video has been doing the rounds regarding a tourist vehicle flouting some traffic rules. It is to be clarified that the info regarding the same had reached Traffic Police and legal action has already been taken u/s 184 (c) of the MV Act which relates to dangerous driving.”
