CALANGUTE: Power supply in the Calangute-Candolim coastal belt was disrupted during the heavy rain on Thursday with many incidents of tree branches collapsing, bringing down electricity wires and poles. Areas in Ximer and Gauravaddo were without electricity for hours in the afternoon after at least 10 electricity poles had to be replaced. No one was injured in the incidents. 

A huge banyan tree came crashing down on a private garage near Dukle hospital in Candolim, on Thursday morning, damaging the roof. However, vehicles parked in the garage were not damaged.
