Former deputy speaker and freedom fighter Shaba Krishnarao Dessai (78) passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday.
Late Dessai was elected to the 2nd Legislative Assembly of Goa, Daman and Diu on the MGP ticket in 1967 and was elected the deputy speaker in 1971.
