PANJIM: Three more COVID-19 deaths were reported on Thursday as the number of persons losing the battle to the virus rose to 42.

An 80-year-old from Porvorim, a 71-year-old from Margao and 62-year-old from Mapusa, all who had co-morbid conditions and were admitted at the COVID-19 hospital passed away on Thursday. 

As per the Health Bulletin, the State reported 215 positive cases in 24 hours, taking the active cases to 1657, whereas 5704 are confirmed cases. The total COVID-19 recoveries have crossed the 4,000 mark. 

The bulletin further mentions that out of 6611 samples, 1564 were negative, 215 positive and 4832 reports are awaited.

A total of 39 patients have been kept in the isolation wards, while 84 people have been quarantined in different residencies and hotels.

Of the active cases, Vasco urban health centre continues to report highest number of cases with a total 391 cases, followed by Cortalim primary health centre that has 343 cases and Margao UHC has reported 107 cases. Panjim city reported 15 cases in the last 24 hours as cases surged to 76 till Thursday, which were at 61 a day earlier.
