MARGAO: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gawde has assured to appoint the Tiatr Academy Committee by the 10th of September. The Academy has no committee for the last one year. 

Gawde said that the file has reached the table of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and the Committee would be appointed by the government. 

The Tiatr Academy of Goa has a 20-member committee of whom ten, including the president, are appointed by the government. Sources say that several persons are in race for the post of the president and they are using their political connections stay ahead in the race.

The appointment of the committee was almost finalised during tenure of former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar. However, after he fell ill, the same was put on the backburner.
