MARGAO: From pandal decorator to businessmen, and from Tiatr artistes to football players, almost 60 people joined Goa Trinamool Congress (TMC) at the grand function held at the panchayat hall in Curtorim on Wednesday. Young and famed Tiatrist Alison Gomes amongst the youth who have been inducted into the party in the presence of senior party leaders in the Congress dominated Curtorim constituency.

This induction function was held with the Konkani Musical Show, at stone’s throw distance from residence of Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco. Panchayat hall was jam-packed to witness the TMC entry in the Curtorim.

TMC leaders Jorson Fernandes, N. Shivdas, Lavu Mamledar, Adv. Antonio Clovis da Costa, and Francis de Tuem were among the leaders present at the function. Along with Gomes, Esidore Rodrigues (former sarpanch of village panchayat Raia), Mario Mascarenhas (football player), Jimmy Cardozo (artiste), Floriano Fernandes (pandel decorator), and Rohit Kamble (businessman) along with their supporters joined TMC.

Welcoming all into the party Fernandes claimed that now TMC is in a strong position in Goa, and the joining of more and more people is one of the evidences.

"Today, people and mostly the youth are showing more and more interest in joining the TMC, and hence the foundation of the party will be stronger in the coming days. Now, the BJP, Congress, and other political parties will feel the fear of TMC," said Fernandes.

He alleged that the government has brought the people on the roads by forcing projects, which are against the Goans.

"This government is run by activists. The Congress party is no more an opposition party. It is the activists who are playing the major role of opposition," said Fernandes.

While addressing the gathering N Shivdas charged the BJP government for dividing the people of Goa and the country.

"This BJP government is fascist one. No one can deny that the BJP party was formed with the sole motto to divide the people. On the other hand Congress too failed to take care of the people, and hence now the only option left is TMC," said Shivdas.

Famous singer Alison Gomes upon his joining to the TMC alleged that Revolutionary Goans used him for the sake of personal gain.

"Yes, at the moment we have all hopes on TMC, as this party has capability to give good governance in the state of Goa," said Gomes.
