PANJIM: With zero COVID-19 cases in State, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Sunday said that it is "too early to tag Goa as Green Zone".
In a series of tweets, Rane said "While we have good news of zero COVID-19 cases in Goa, it is too early to tag our state as a green zone".
The South Goa district is categorised under 'Green Zone' by the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare, while North Goa has been considered as 'Red'.
Intensifying its testing facilities, the Health Minister said that government is drawing up protocols for conducting random testing of migrant workers, industrial workers and other labourers.
"The aim behind broadening our scope of testing is to screen more citizens, who showed signs o vulnerability to the virus during the mass survey," Rane tweeted.
He said directions are issued to Secretary Health to draw modalities to this effect to conduct tests in an efficient and professional manner.
The minister also said that it is in process of setting up smart testing kiosks at borders, airport, Mormugao Port Trust and several other locations.
