VASCO: The Vasco Traffic Police Cell has issued an advisory in view of the famous Saptah festival and will keep the Swatantra Path Road closed for all vehicular traffic for seven days from August 3 to 9.

Vasco Traffic Cell Police Inspector Shailesh Narvekar said that traffic arrangements have been made for the Saptah festival commencing from Wednesday, August 3 and appealed to the people and devotees to cooperate with the police to ensure smooth flow of traffic in Vasco. 

PI Narvekar said that the Swatantra Path Road will remain closed for all types of vehicular traffic from St Andrew Church junction up to IOC junction from August 3, from 1 pm, to August 9. Similarly, the road from Bombay Auto Parts up to the old electricity office near Vasco Civil Court will be barricaded and closed for all movement of vehicular traffic, he informed.

All the traffic coming to and from Vasco/Mormugao will be diverted on F L Gomes Road. No Parking will be allowed on the road from New KTC bus stand to Church junction while, parking will be allowed at KTC bus stand, near Tanya Hotel (open space parking) and by sides of other internal roads, near State Bank of India and near Tilak Maidan, Vasco.

“No movement of heavy vehicles will be allowed from 10 am on August 3 and midnight on August 4 and between 4.30 pm and 10 pm for the next five days i.e from August 5 to 9, PI Narvekar said requesting the people to cooperate with the traffic police to ensure smooth flow of traffic during the week-long festival.
