Traffic police issue advisory during cycling race

PANJIM: The Goa Traffic Police have issued traffic advisory in view of the cycling (road race) to be held from 9 am on November 6 to midnight of November 9 on National Highway 566, as part of the ongoing 37th National Games. 

The movement of vehicles will be restricted in the lane leading from MES College Junction to Birla Cross Junction NH 566 on November 8 and 9 from 4 am to 3 pm for the smooth conduct of cycling (road race). 

The MES College Junction to Birla Cross junction (left lane) on NH 566 will be allowed for the traffic proceeding towards Verna-Margao from Dabolim Airport on November 6 and 7; all the traffic coming to Vasco/Mormugao will be diverted on Cortalim Circle-Chicalim Circle from Birla Cross Junction while, all the vehicular traffic towards Verna-Margao from Vasco will be diverted pm Birla-Zuarinagar-Cansaulim from MES College junction on November 8 and 9.

No movement of heavy vehicles will be allowed from MES College Junction to Birla Cross Junction (left lane) NH 566 on November 8 and 9 from 4 am to 3 pm for smooth conduct of cycling (road race) event. 

All the heavy vehicles will be diverted on Chicalim Circle-Cortalim Circle-Birla Cross Junction from Dabolim Airport Junction.   

The general public visiting to Dabolim Airport should plan their journey accordingly well in advance so as to avoid inconvenience to them since competition will be conducted on these roads. Residents of adjourning buildings, colonies, internal road connecting to main highway, major institution like BITS, Mount Litera, ZIOL, MRF, KIA Motors will be affected and they should plan their journey accordingly on these days.

The public are requested to cooperate with the Goa Police to ensure smooth conduct of cycling event.
