PERNEM: Morjim witnessed an explosion of colour, tradition, and revelry at the annual celebration of Mandrem Shigmotsav. Thousands of people flocked to see the vibrant celebration of the Shigmotsav parade on Tuesday. The organising committee executed the event in an orderly manner and with great enthusiasm.
The Shigmostav parade witnessed creative floats and traditional dances. This year, the parade was a huge success and was witnessed by a massive crowd.
A large number of Chitra raths, floats, Romta Mel, and folk dance troupes participated in various competitions. In addition to the performing groups, there was a fancy dress competition where participants were dressed as various mythological characters.
This unique amalgamation of Goan culture and tradition not only attracted the locals but also a huge number of foreigners from all around the world. Foreigners were seen sitting and enjoying the sights and sounds of the Shigmotsav parade with a spectacular display of folk dance, music, and fancy dress competition.
