PONDA: A mango tree crashed along the busy Kavlem- Durbhat road on Thursday disrupting traffic for an hour. Luckily no one was injured in the incident.
Kavlem sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar and a local Ranjanish Kavlekar said, The locals of Kavlem have been demanding that the several dangerous old trees along the Kapileshwarim- Donkhamb road be cut.
They called upon the land owners to cooperate in this regard.
“There are several trees in row that are leaning dangerously on electricity wires, which could prove fatal to road users. This is a busy road which leads to Durbhat, Kavlem, Marcaim and Bandora. Besides pedestrians, school students also use the road and hence the government should look into matter and cut these dangerous trees,” they demanded.
