PANJIM: The vehicular traffic along KTC bus stand Panjim had to be diverted after a huge tree came crashing down in the Ambedkar Garden, on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred at around 5:25 pm, fortunately no casualty was reported. At least 27 traffic police personnel were deployed to manage the vehicular movement from KTC circle to Panjim city.
"The traffic on both the roads had to be diverted due to the uprooting of the tree. We deployed 27 personnel to manage smooth flow of the traffic," Traffic Police Inspector Brendon D’Souza told Herald.
Long vehicular queues upto Mandovi Bridge and the Patto Bridge were witnessed. However, situation was brought back to normal by 6.40 pm.
