Two ex- MLAs join GFP

PANJIM: Former St Cruz MLA Victor Gonsalves and Former Velim MLA Farrel Furtado on Wednesday joined Goa Forward Party (GFP).

Addressing the media, GFP president Vijai Sardesai said, “I am very happy that they both joined GFP and I welcome them to our party. Our party ideology appeals to them and their decision to join is not only from their hearts but also the mind.”

He added, “We are not looking at quantity but quality, also we are not discussing about the target set for our membership drive. We will continue the drive till opinion poll day.”

Furtado said, “We have seen many parties blooming at the time of election but after that they become dormant but GFP has been going forward since its inception. I have basically joined GFP on three fronts, the first it is that it will be stable party, secondly because it has taken up issues of Goa and Goan identity and third is that the party is face of the minorities.”

Gonsalves said he assures GFP and all its members they he will work for the people.
