CALANGUTE: Two persons were arrested by the Calangute police on Saturday night for allegedly duping two tourists at a restaurant-massage parlour. Two other accused are absconding.

Calangute police said they received a complaint from Arun Malik, 28, a tourist from Sonipat, Haryana, that he and a friend, Mukesh, were taken on Saturday afternoon at around 2 pm to Jupiter restaurant-massage parlour located next to Domino's pizza by the accused persons on the pretext of providing massage.

There he was induced to transfer Rs 6,000, including Rs 2,000 as security deposit into the bank account of accused Subham Jillewar. However, no massage service was provided.

When Malik and his companion refused to pay, they were confined in a room, abused with filthy language and threatened with dire consequences to kill and were neither provided any massage service, nor was their money returned.

Following the incident, Malik lodged a complaint with Calangute police. The accused have been identified as Ravi Chavan, Vinit, Subham Jillewar and Jeevan, the manager of Jupiter restaurant.

Calangute police have arrested Vinit and Jillewar and have been remanded in four days police custody. The other two are absconding, police said.
