MAPUSA: Mapusa and Anjuna Police booked two separate chain and mangalsutra snatching cases.
The first incident occurred at Khorlim at around 6.45 am wherein the complainant Madhuri Verlekar (65) had gone for her walk when 2 persons came on a motorbike wearing a helmet and mask respectively, asked her for an address, and snatched the gold chain from her neck, worth Rs 1 lakh. In the other incident in Assagao, a 53-year-old woman was walking by the roadside when 2 persons came on a bike and snatched the mangalsutra from her neck, worth Rs 2.50 lakh.
The police said both the incidents were reported along the same Mapusa-Assagao route within 2 hours.
