PANJIM: Union Minister for AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the integrated AYUSH Health Services at Panjim on Friday.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane were present at the occasion.

The integrated ‘AYUSH Health Services’ in the State  encompass various research  councils including the CCRAS – Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Mineral and Marine Medicinal Resources, CCRH – Clinical Research Unit (Homeopathy), CCRS - Siddha Clinical Research Unit, CCRYN - Clinical Research Unit, and CCRUM – Unani Speciality clinic. 

The facility is equipped with an outpatient department (OPD), dispensary, Panchakarma centre and a laboratory for conducting research, with a focus on medicines derived from mineral and marine sources. Additionally, a museum and library are being developed within the premises.

Highlighting the significance of this initiative, Sonowal said that this centre is the first-of-its-kind in the country to provide integrated AYUSH facilities. 

He emphasised that the Ministry of AYUSH is committed to ensuring global health not just within the country. He further acknowledged the growing international recognition of India's traditional healing practices, with the AYUSH market currently 

expanding to Rs 4 lakh crore.



Sonowal expressed hope that the integration of AYUSH therapies in touristic State would benefit both locals and tourists. He suggested that institutions under the Ministry of AYUSH organise awareness camps at the village level to promote AYUSH treatment methods.

Shripad Naik extended his gratitude to the Ministry of AYUSH for introducing integrated treatments in the State. He mentioned that the people of Goa would greatly benefit from the All India Institute of Ayurveda at Pernem and the newly inaugurated AYUSH services.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant highlighted that the newly inaugurated AYUSH healthcare centre would fulfil Ayurveda's highest goal by focusing on both preventive and therapeutic aspects of medicine. 

He reiterated the aim of providing high-quality and affordable healthcare services in the State including an outpatient department (OPD) and a Panchakarma Kendra.
