PONDA: Following a report in Herald on Sunday (June12), that an Usgao school, which had secured a 100 per cent results in the SSC Exams, deserved a good infrastructure, things in the school premises continued to remain in bad state till Tuesday.

The school authorities appear to awaken from their slumber and shifted some of the classes temporarily to a private building from Tuesday at Kelini, Usgao where classes of Std V to X students are now being conducted. Sources say that the classes will continue at Kelini till the government building is repaired.

With the school reopening on June 6, students and their parents had hoped that the authorities would get their act together and get the school premises ready for the new academic year. But sadly the students of the Government School at Davshirem Usgao were facing leakages in their classrooms.

The repairs have been done in haste without proper roofing leaving the students to face hardships.

The students say that the contractor failed to repair the premises after having opened the roof of the building a month before the school reopened.

The parents have now heaved a sigh of relief following the temporary shifting of the classes to a rented place as the students were getting wet due to the seepages from the roof.

The parents have demanded that the contractor and the government repair the building immediately and also maintain the standard in the work.
