PANJIM: The State government has notified appointment of Vidhya Gaude as the new Chairperson of the Goa State Women’s Commission (GSWC).
The notification of September 3, confirming her appointment to the post, was released through a gazette on Friday, September 11.
Minister for Women and Child Development Vishwajit Rane had last month taken to Twitter informing that a notification is being moved to appoint a new Chairperson for the Commission and the Board will also be reconstituted. “A formal notification is being moved to appoint Vidya Gaude as the Chairperson of Goa Sate Women’s Commission. Further, a new Board of GSWC will be constituted to give impetus to the department,” he had posted.
In March, the National Commission for Women had advised the government to fill the vacant post at the earliest.
