Parrikar asks officials to mail him a list of work that needs to be done and has assured to call for a meeting to discuss the issue and finalise the works

MARGAO: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, while acknowledging he did not physically see things that needed repairs at Ravindra Bhavan, has asked officials to mail him a list of work that needs to be done.

He has also assured that subsequently, a meeting would be held within a week to discuss and finalise the works.

When Parrikar arrived at Ravindra Bhawan on Monday, Chairman Prashant Naik, along with other members including vice chairman Shaish Palandikar, took him to see some damaged portions.

They first took him to the building that is the cause for the vigilance case due to which the PWD has not yet handed over the premises to Ravindra Bhavan and showed the room, that was meant to be a studio.

“You give me a list of all the things that you want to be done and I shall call for a meeting to finalise it,” Parrikar said after seeing the big crack on the wall, next to the staircase leading to the first floor.

“I know Ravindra Bhawan has been neglected for a long but that was because Digambar Kamat had divided the entire premises into 15 different parts for the purpose of tendering works,” he said, adding that the building had to be maintained as a whole and not in parts and pieces.

“The work had to be taken up in an integrated manner and not piece meal,” he said assuring that he will call for a meeting within a week to finalise all the works that need to be undertaken.
