PANJIM: With Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar not being able to attend the Assembly session beginning from Monday, BJP’s legislative wing has called for an emergency meeting at 10:30am to take stock of the situation.

The BJP legislators including Speaker Pramod Sawant have been visiting the Chief Minister in Mumbai to understand the health conditions of Parrikar, who was supposed to table the Budget during upcoming session.

Several BJP leaders have been camping in Mumbai since the time Parrikar has been flown in there after he complained of stomach ache. Party sources stated that impromptu meetings are held as Parrikar has been ailing on the eve of the crucial session.

What’s interesting is that Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik, who was also in Mumbai, would be attending the BJP meeting at the Secretariat.

BJP State General Secretary Sadanand Tanawade remained tight-lipped when questioned about the possible name to lead the group, while party State president Vinay Tendulkar was not available for his comments.

Sources confirmed that the BJP will retain Parrikar as their leader of the group, while ruling coalition would be led by Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar who is the senior-most leader.
