‘Loliem Film City could be a threat to Navy's Karwar Sea Bird Project’

CANACONA: While assuring to be the voice of people if elected, INDIA Bloc candidate Capt Viriato Fernandes said the proposed film city at Loliem could be a threat, to the Navy's Sea Bird project at Karwar. He said he would be as dedicated as he was, while working for the Indian Navy for 26 years.

“Given its proximity to Navy’s Sea Bird project at Karwar, proposed film city at Loliem could be a threat,” he said while addressing an election meeting at Chaudi, in Canacona, on Wednesday.

Goa Forward Party supremo and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said BJP’s bankruptcy stands exposed by terming Capt Viriato a 'traitor'. “A Naval officer cannot be a traitor, but the BJP is full of corrupt people as alleged by its own MLA Ramesh Tawadkar,” he said.

AAP MLA Venzy Viegas said the BJP has set up a 'WhatsApp University' that was trying to fool Goans thinking they are andh bhakts.

“Canacona continues to be backward with no proper amenities and even the Health Centre is a mere referral clinic,” said Yuri Alemao, while also pointing out that BJP has not provided reservations for the ST community for elections.

Congress MLA Altone D’Costa said the BJP, with its borrowings, has created a debt of Rs 4 lakh on each Goan.

“RSS that founded BJP, did not hoist the National Flag at its headquarters till about a decade ago, and they have the gumption to tell us to honour the Constitution,” exclaimed Girish Chodankar while also asking the Speaker to expeditiously decide the disqualification petitions which are filed under the Constitution.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar surprised everyone by showing a video where BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade mishandling the National Tricolour. “And such people are trying to tell us how to respect the Constitution!” he exclaimed.
