BICHOLIM: North Goa BJP candidate Shripad Naik called on citizens to ‘nurture democracy’ and ensure the progress of villages, while addressing a corner meeting held at Kumbharwada, Mayem on Friday.

“As citizens of this great nation, we are both fortunate and proud. Reflecting on our past, we realise the consequences of neglecting our protection and unity, which resulted in foreign rule over our land,” said Naik. “Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to nurturing our democracy and ensuring the continued progress and prosperity of our villages,” added the incumbent MP, who is also Union Minister of State for Tourism.

During Naik's campaign tour, he engaged in dialogue with BJP workers from Mayem and Bicholim Assembly constituencies, as well as the public.

The event was also attended by Bicholim MLA Chandrakant Shetye, ZP Member Shankar Chodankar, Mayem-Vainguinim Sarpanch Vidyanand Karbotkar, Mayem BJP Mandal President Dayanand Karbotkar, Secretary Vishwas Chodankar, BJP State Mahila Morcha President Aarti Bandodkar, Mayem Mahila Morcha President Shruti Jalmi, and others
