PANJIM: Stating that that the Pramod Sawant government has proved that it is completely not in sync with reality and Goans over the past three days, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday alleged that the BJP MLAs in the House have shown that they do not care about Goans and their grief.
The party said in response to the Benaulim gang-rape case, Sawant has indulged in blaming the victims rather than reaching out to them. In the case of the floods that ravaged large parts of Goa, the BJP government has released compensation upto only Rs 2 lakh for the immeasurable damage Goans faced. Goa's Health Minister and Sawant's rival Vishwajit Rane has tried to one up the CM on insensitive statements by saying that no Goans have died due to oxygen shortage. It's clear that all the BJP knows is headline management. There have been three rapes in the last three days but the CM has not taken or even announced any steps to make women feel more confident and comfortable in Goa, it alleged.
