When mining loot of Rs 35,000 crores is recovered each Goan will have Rs 3.5 lakhs

When mining loot of Rs 35,000 crores is recovered each Goan will have Rs 3.5 lakhs

. The big mining lobby doesn’t want this money to go to the people. That is why they are controlling political parties

. This is why Herald, a people’s paper is attacked for fighting for people’s rights over the wealth of their land

. Do you want Herald to keep fighting or not for the recovery of this loot and against a lobby that controls political parties for their interests?

Elections are supposed to be about issues and causes. And about people. But big lobbies like mining and real estate in Goa are controlling political parties and elections. And strongly attacking those forces preparing to fight against these lobbies. A people’s paper like Herald is one such force and is being attacked for the same reason. To ensure that these lobbies survive, and the recovery of mining loot never happens, because this lobby does not want to put money in the pockets of the common Goan.

It’s simple. Rs 35,000 crore of money of Goans were looted due to illegal mining. If that is recovered each of the 10 lakh children of the soil will get Rs 3.5 lakh plus dividends from future mining

Lobbies with big interests do not want to pay back the money that was looted during the peak of the illegal mining years 2007 to 2012 and the parties that have ruled Goa, do not want this wealth in people’s hands but in their pockets.

This election is between big lobbies and the common people. Herald is fighting against these lobbies and for the people

The mining lobby has been so powerful that it can dictate terms to every party. They engaged in mining loot and then they got the government to renew their leases. It doesn’t matter which party is in power. They order and control and their government acts for the big daddies of the lobby and against the people.

Herald is clear. It will work against anti-people mining lobbies and political parties which become their puppets

Who is speaking of recovering mining loot? Who is speaking about mining for the people by the people? Has a single political party said it will support and honour the work of Goa Foundation and Claude and Norma Alvares for dedicating lives to free Goa of illegal mining? Herald has saluted, supported, and been inspired by them.

And that is why Herald has and is being attacked by forces including their media, unleashed by these very lobbies so that the very cozy understanding between the lobby and the political system is unchallenged.

They are the ultimate deciders of alliances, candidates, and post-poll formations. To them, nothing matters if the government is theirs. They therefore will attack any political forces or a narrative which takes them on.

The same lobbies and their handlers also want coal transportation, nationalization of rivers, linear projects, double-tracking. When Herald opposes this, it comes under attack. Fake news, fake narratives, photoshopped letters, getting trolls to attack, using compromised, fake journalists to write ill of the paper, are orchestrated by the lobby and all political forces that back them. Herald sees them for what they are.

Do you want Herald to take on mining and other lobbies who make politicians and parties dance to their tunes? Do you want your paper to take on lobbies that support coal and double-tracking? Do tell us.

We have and will back any fight which is fought to free Goa from the clutches of such lobbies and will go to any extent to do so for the people, using all its democratic rights.

Good men are getting trapped by these lobbies and the political forces they handle

It is shocking that good men who can move the masses with the right teachings have got trapped by such lobbies. When they bow down at the ‘altar’ of one political party, whose main political face is friend and family member of the mining lobby, it is very sad.

One needs to pay the price for being on the people’s side

For Herald, the price one is paying is being harassed, hassled, and called names by the troll army that only one party can afford. They have local support.

One must choose really. Between selfish political parties and the rights of the people. Herald has made its choice to fight for the rights of the people. And hopes that people will too for the sake of the children of Goa.
