Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant offered flowers and paid tribute at the Samadhi of former Defence Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar at Miramar on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Thereafter he attended the Manohar Parrikar Vidnyan Mahotsav at NIO, Dona Paula. Such Vidnyan Mahotsavs were held at 7 venues across the state on his birthday, to which 17 scientists were invited. Chief Minister said the Samadhi of Dayanand Bandodkar would also be renovated soon.
To encourage the youth to pursue science, Sawant has announced that young scientists below the age of 35 will be given the national award named after Manohar Parrikar from the 5th edition of Manohar Parrikar Vidnyan Mahotsav.
