Assault Case Reported in Cujira Complex Parking Lot, Goa; Three Arrested

A case of assault has been reported at the parking lot of Cujira Complex in Bambolim, Tiswadi, Goa. The victim, identified as Aiden Fernandes, son of Agostinho Fernandes, aged 20 and a student of SY BBA at Dempo College of Commerce & Economics, lodged a complaint regarding the incident.

According to the complaint lodged by Fernandes, the assault occurred between 11:00 hrs to 12:30 hrs on 03/04/2024. He stated that two individuals, identified as Joshua Xavier from Caranzalem and Shoaib (full name not disclosed), acted in concert to verbally abuse him and his friend Jay Kholi. Additionally, another individual, known only by the name Zaiculla from Caranzalim, reportedly assaulted Fernandes' friend Mayank Chavan, as well as pushed Chandraprakash Mahabar to the ground, resulting in bodily injuries.

Furthermore, during the altercation, Shoaib allegedly attempted to stab Jay Kholi with a knife, with the intent to cause fatal harm. Although Kholi managed to evade the attack, he sustained injuries to his right hand in the process. Additionally, another friend of Fernandes, Shivesh Naik, sustained injuries to his right hand palm and leg while attempting to intervene and stop the violence.

The incident led to the registration of a case under Agacaim PS Cr. No. 24/2024, under sections 307, 504, 506 (ii) read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code, pertaining to attempted murder, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace, criminal intimidation, and acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention.

Following the report, a swift investigation was conducted under the supervision of PI Agacaim, with a team led by PSI Swapnil Naik, PC Raju Attar, and HC Pooresh Hadonkar of Agacaim P.S. As a result, three individuals involved in the crime were apprehended. They were identified as Joshua Xavier from Caranzalem, Shoaib Beg from Taleigao Tiswadi, and Zaiculla Khazi from Caranzalim.

The accused persons are placed under arrest after admitting to their involvement in the assault. Further investigations in this matter are underway.
