Burglary Suspect Apprehended: Stolen Property Worth 2.5 lakh Recovered

Mapusa Police have successfully apprehended the prime suspect involved in a recent burglary at Parra Canca. Accused Madesh Mhapsekar resident of Saliswado, Parra managed to flee off with goods worth 2.50 lakhs in the wee hours on Saturday. However, Mapusa police managed to catch hold of the accused within few hours and recovered all the stolen valuable items. 

On March 2, 2024, Mrs. Karuna Prasad Porob lodged a complaint at Mapusa Police Station, detailing the alleged burglary that occurred on February 29, 2024. According to the complaint, between 02:15 hrs to 02:45 hrs at Saliswado, Parra Bardez Goa, Mr. Madesh Mhapsekar of Saliswado, Parra, Bardez Goa, unlawfully entered the complainant's store room through the main door rolling shutter. 

The accused, identified as Mr. Madesh Ramdes Mhapaekar, reportedly made off with valuable items including Two DVR processors of make novastar Vx 4s, 50 Sq. m. of electrical cable, and two switchboards of an LED screen. The stolen items collectively amounted to Rs. 2,50,000. 

Taking swift action, the Mapusa Police registered a case under Section 454 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code, marking it as Crime No. 42/2024. The investigative team, led by PI Nikhil Palekar, along with PSI Bablo Parab, Hc4903, PC6120, and PC7916, diligently pursued the case.
