Calangute Beach, Goa’s famous tourist spot, saw a tremendous drop in early morning visitors on Saturday, compared to the crowded scenes from the previous year. Last year, the beach was crowded with domestic tourists, but this year, until 7 am, there was a noticeable decrease in the crowd at the beach. However, the shores witnessed a filthy sight of litter scattered across the sands, mainly comprising discarded alcohol bottles and plastic bags.
Beachside shack owners were left disappointed and expressed dismay over the reduced number of tourists. They highlighted the prevalent issue of delayed cleaning services, pointing out that the contracted cleaning crews arrive late, forcing the shack owners themselves to undertake the task of cleaning the beach
