A group of concerned citizens from Goa gathered on Friday to express their vehement opposition to the use of Electronic Voting machines in the upcoming elections. The citizens, representing a diverse cross-section of society, voiced their concerns about the alleged vulnerabilities and lack of transparency associated with EVMs. The members claimed the present electronic voting machine system is not reliable, making it” unfit” for democratic elections, and demanded a return to the ballot paper method.

Pratima Coutinho called out to the youth of Goa and support “EVM Hatao Desh Bachao” group for their better future. She even said that “we were forced to vacate the place and supreme court lawyer was also detained” this shows how petrified prime minster was hence he did not give us fare chance raise our voice. Another member of the group said that the all election has been manipulated so is EVM machine, hence we want ballot voting system to make fare and clear elections.

Another concerned citizen raised a query over the financial loss during elections which can be saved by having ballot paper voting system. She quoted saying that “one EVM machine booth cost around 1lak whereas ballot voting system will cost around 6 to 7 thousand”, here we can save huge amount of money which in turn can be used for betterment of the country.
