The Congress party has raised serious concerns regarding the alleged misuse of government machinery and resources for the election campaign of BJP candidates. Demanding immediate action, Margao Congress leader Savio Coutinho called upon the Election Commission to launch a thorough inquiry into the matter.
Addressing the issue, Coutinho highlighted instances where materials printed by the Department of Information and Publicity were being distributed by workers of BJP candidates. He emphasized that such actions were illegal and warranted urgent attention from the election authorities.
During a press conference, Coutinho displayed a booklet printed by the Department of Information and Publicity, questioning the legality of utilizing public funds for election campaigns. He stressed the need for accountability and transparency in the electoral process, condemning the apparent misuse of taxpayer money.
Coutinho also criticized the BJP leadership, suggesting that they might underestimate public concern regarding the misuse of government resources due to their substantial majority. However, he warned that voters would express their dissatisfaction through the ballot box, indicating potential repercussions for BJP candidates in the upcoming elections.
